Thailand made a clean sweep at three events held simultaneously at Santiburi Country Club.
Thai golfers won the Putra Cup, Lion City Cup and Santi Cup which concluded at Santiburi Country Club in Chiang Rai yesterday. In the 49th Putra Cup, the Southeast Asian Championship for male amateurs, Thanyakorn Krongpha retained his individual title after firing a 71 for 10-under 278 total. It was Thailand's 13th individual triumph in the event. The 19-year-old was one shot ahead of Joshua Shou of Singapore (69) while Apichat Papituk (72) came in third on 286. Thanyakorn also helped Thailand claim the team title for the 13th time. The Thais finished on 846, four strokes clear of defending champions Singapore. The Philippines, who have won the title 18 times but not since 1996, were third on 858. "I am very happy to retain the title," said Thanyakorn of Khon Kaen. Click here to view the full article.
